If there’s one thing I want you to take away today, it’s this: you are already the exact person you need to be in this moment—just as you are. You don’t need to change or fix yourself to be worthy of success, happiness, or peace. You already have everything you need inside of you. But sometimes, life makes us forget that.

Why Life Feels Like a Rollercoaster (and That’s Okay)

Someone once explained life to me like a video game. Each level presents a challenge you need to figure out before you can move forward. Some levels are easy; others feel impossible. But every challenge—and every win—gets you to the next stage.

Not into video games? Here’s another way to look at it.

Think back to when you started sixth grade. Now fast forward to the end of eighth grade. Were you the same person? Of course not. No one expected you to be.

Life is a constant mix of highs and lows, easy days and hard days. Some moments push you forward, others set you back. But here’s the key:

Life is always 50/50.

Without the hard moments, you wouldn’t appreciate the good ones.
Without the dark, the light wouldn’t feel so bright.

For the longest time, I believed that the best life meant having a perfect life—one where everything fell into place effortlessly. But then it hit me: how would you ever know what ‘perfect’ is if you never had ‘imperfect’?

The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything

Once you truly understand that life is 50% good and 50% not-so-good, you stop fighting the hard moments. You stop blaming yourself for setbacks. You stop beating yourself up for things not going exactly as planned. Instead, you learn to navigate those moments with grace.

On tough days, I remind myself:
“This is what it is today, and that’s okay.”

And on the good days, I celebrate the wins—because I know exactly what it took to get there!

How to Move Through Life’s Hard Moments Without Getting Stuck

The goal isn’t to avoid life’s challenges. It’s to give them the space they need while knowing you’ll move through them. One of my favorite tools for this? Journaling.

Journaling isn’t about writing the perfect words. It’s not about spelling or grammar. It’s about processing your thoughts in real time—without judgment, without anyone talking back. A small tip: I like to tear up my paper after writing. It’s a reminder that whatever I felt in that moment doesn’t have to define me forever.

A Journaling Exercise to Try Today

Grab a piece of paper, a journal, or even the back of a napkin—whatever you have nearby. Write down your top three emotions on a regular day and describe how they feel in your body.

Here’s an example:

  • Jealousy – Makes my stomach hurt, my face gets hot, and I chew my nails.
  • Happiness – Makes me walk taller, I smile more, and I feel light.

Set a timer for 10 minutes and just write. No overthinking. No filtering. Just noticing what’s already inside you. This small habit can help you process emotions, release negativity, and make space for the good that’s coming next.

You Were Made For This Day!

Life will always be 50/50—half good, half hard. The secret isn’t escaping the hard moments. It’s understanding that they’re part of the process.

So, on the tough days, remind yourself:
“This is what it is today, and that’s okay.”

And on the good days? Soak them in. You’ve earned them.
